Hybrid Role: Must be able to come on-site periodically and reside a commutable distance from the assigned work location.
Emergency Response: Yes - Must be available to perform a primary assignment in support of DTE's emergency response to storms or other events that impact service to our customers.
Attracts, retains, and expands programs selling for the Company's Electric's solutions for both new and existing Company accounts in commercial, and industrial settings. Develops and maintains relationships with both internal and external stakeholders to market and sell the Company's suite of products and services to customers within the Company's service territory. Supports with short- and long-term strategy development, analysis and planning for the business unit. Provides administration and analysis of customer research, support with business unit performance reporting and program deployment. Employee partners with product development and marketing Business Unit's to ensure alignment with program objectives and address customer's needs through ideation, expanding when applicable, Company's suite of product and service offerings. Works independently and exercises independent judgment. Span of control: 0; individual contributor job.
* Forecasts and achieves sales and revenue targets for an assigned book of business
* Executes advisory services sales processes for the Company program pipeline, including coordinating with team members, performing sales activities and partners with project management through implementation.
* Serves as an internal consultant to business units, allies with product development and marketing teams to ensure alignment with product development, pricing, and communication channels meeting customers' requirements
* Advises customers on Company programs and solutions, and provides account management support
* Develops and makes presentations to promote product and service solutions to customer decision makers
* Researches and prepares internal and external communications for Senior Management remaining current on Company programs regulations, contracts/agreements, electric utility rates, connecting customer processes and provides consulting advice
* Provides support in developing the annual strategy presentation for the department Manager and Director, strategy updates process, development of organizational scorecards
* Analyzes the strategic, operating and financial impacts of internal business proposals. Develops recommendations and associated business cases in response to these proposals
* Supports in developing detailed financial models to support the long-term planning process as well as business cases for major projects
* Provides support with leading cross-functional teams to investigate, analyze, and make recommendations to Senior Management on current strategic or operational issues
* Establishes and maintains account relationships with commercial and industrial customers providing leadership, analytical and financial skills to support the Company's programs and related sales initiatives
* Supports special assignments and projects
* Uses continuous improvement tools to identify defects and improve processes
This is a multi-track base requirement job; education and experience requirements can be satisfied through one of the following three options:
* High school diploma and 7 years of experience in sales or energy-related account management; or
* Associate's degree and 5 years of experience in sales or energy-related account management; or
* Bachelor's degree and 3 years of experience in sales or energy-related account management.
Preferred
* Degree in business, marketing, or an engineering-related technical field
* Experience in energy/utility industry and sales to residential, commercial, and industrial customers
Other Requirements
* Ability to think strategically and creatively while demonstrating strong analytical and facilitation skills.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills with proven abilities to cohesively defend or justify recommendations.
* Ability to work professionally with individuals at all levels of the corporation and with outside consultants.
* Financial analysis and modeling skills and experience.
* Project management skills and experience.
