Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Industrial Cleaners to join our team of cleaning staff at the Great Lakes Water Authority location in Ft. Gratiot. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness and sanitation in GLWA buildings. This role requires a strong commitment to hygiene standards and the ability to perform heavy lifting as needed. Valid Driver's License is required for this position. Candidate must be able to pass a criminal background check.
Duties
- Perform custodial duties including sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming floors.
- Sanitate surfaces and equipment to ensure a clean and safe environment.
- Clean and maintain restrooms, break rooms, and other common areas.
- Fabricate cleaning solutions as required for specific tasks.
- Conduct industrial cleaning while adhering to safety protocols.
- Assist with heavy lifting and moving of materials when necessary.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations during all cleaning activities.
- Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards to management promptly.
Skills
- Proven experience in custodial or commercial cleaning roles is REQUIRED.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting (up to 50 pounds) as required by the job.
- Familiarity with industrial cleaning techniques and equipment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high cleanliness standards.
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Good communication skills to interact effectively with team members and management.
