Janitorial Supervisor

Job Summary
The Janitorial Supervisor plays a vital role in maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for all building occupants. This position requires a proactive individual who can oversee custodial staff, manage cleaning schedules, and ensure that all areas are maintained to the highest standards. The Janitorial Supervisor will be responsible for both routine and specialized cleaning tasks, as well as facilities maintenance. A valid Driver's License is required. Transportation to our Sterling Heights office is required. Must be able to pass a background check for clearance to our job sites. The Janitorial Supervisor will have access to company vehicle for travel to job sites. Must be familiar with the Metro Detroit area.

Duties

• Supervise and coordinate the activities of custodial staff to ensure efficient operations.
• Perform floor care duties including buffing, stripping, and waxing to maintain high-quality surfaces.
• Conduct industrial cleaning tasks in various settings such as commercial buildings and residential areas.
• Maintain cleanliness in all areas by performing regular inspections and addressing any issues promptly.
• Manage inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment, ensuring that all necessary materials are available for staff use.
• Travel Metro-Detroit Area, checking on assigned sites, making deliveries
• Provide training and support to custodial staff on best practices in cleaning techniques and safety protocols.
• Implement effective cleaning schedules that align with the needs of the facility while minimizing disruption to occupants.

Experience

• Proven experience in custodial or facilities manager roles is REQUIRED
• Familiarity with commercial cleaning practices and equipment is REQUIRED.
• Experience with floor care techniques such as buffing and stripping is highly desirable.
• Knowledge of industrial cleaning standards and procedures is a plus.
• Previous experience in residential painting or porter duties can be beneficial.
• Strong attention to detail with a commitment to maintaining cleanliness and safety standards.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $17.00 - $18.50 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
