Position Overview:
The Lead Plumbing Technician will be responsible for overseeing plumbing projects, providing technical guidance to team members, and ensuring that all work meets industry standards and client expectations. This role requires a strong understanding of plumbing systems, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to effectively communicate with clients and team members.
A Typical Day Looks Like:
- Project Management: Leading and overseeing plumbing projects from start to finish, including scheduling, resource allocation, and quality control.
- Technical Expertise: Demonstrating proficiency in installing, repairing, and maintaining plumbing systems, including pipes, fixtures, and appliances.
- Team Leadership: Providing guidance and support to plumbing technicians, apprentices, and other team members. Delegating tasks effectively and ensuring that work is completed efficiently and accurately.
- Client Interaction: Communicating with clients to understand their needs, answering questions, and providing recommendations for plumbing solutions. Always maintaining a professional and courteous demeanor.
- Problem Solving: Identifying and troubleshooting plumbing issues, developing effective solutions, and implementing repairs in a timely manner.
- Compliance: Ensuring that all work complies with relevant codes, regulations, and safety standards. Keeping up to date of industry developments and best practices.
- Documentation: Completing accurate and thorough documentation of work performed, including invoices, work orders, and inspection reports.
- Training and Development: Providing training and mentorship to junior team members to support their professional growth and development.
What Does It Take?
- Journeyman Plumbing license is preferred, not required
- 2 year minimum as a lead plumber running your own truck
- Ability to serve tanked and tankless water heaters
- Demonstrated ability to lift at least 75 Ibs
- Valid Driver's License required
- Clear background check, Motor Vehicle Report (MVR), and drug screen
- Strong interpersonal skills with a focus on customer satisfaction and educating customers on all options
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Commitment to safety in all aspects of work
- Ability to work independently and/or in a team environment
