Maintenance Technician Job Description

Auben Realty has an open Maintenance Technician position in Chattanooga, TN. We are seeking a self-motivated maintenance professional who understands the importance of providing outstanding customer service and will take pride in maintaining our single-family homes.

Position Overview:

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for completing assigned work orders to ensure the preservation and maintenance of all properties within their region. In doing so, the technician will perform general maintenance of occupied properties. The performance of all tasks is expected to be in compliance with general safety rules and regulations, in an efficient manner, and up to the standards of the maintenance department. The maintenance technician will also aid in maintaining inventory control and provide recommendations.

• High school diploma or equivalent (Preferred)

License/Certification:

• Driver's License (Required)

Schedule:

• 8-hour shift (Some OT may be required)
• Monday to Friday
• On call

Salary:

• Salary $25-$30 based on experience

Essential Job Functions:

• Perform routine maintenance within established benchmarks for standards, cost, quality, labor, material, safety, and housekeeping of materials.
• Perform minor repairs
• Carpentry, Plumbing, Electrical, Painting, Appliance Repair, HVAC, and General Maintenance
• Identify hazards, defects, potential for repair, ensuring safe, well-maintained home conditions.
• Perform periodic inspections
• Aid in the assessment of large repairs and spot check for the completion of work by external third-party vendors
• Develop and implement a preventative maintenance program for capital expenditure items.
• Implement and maintain an inventory system of equipment, supplies, and parts.
• Provide information to the maintenance department to proactively make necessary and recommended long-term repairs.
• Stay current on subject matter trends, technology, and operational efficiencies.
• Work within set spending limits per property based on company and owner criteria.
• Perform other duties as requested.
