SUMMARY: We are seeking a assistant project manager to assist in the Employment, Labor, and Benefits Group to support all phases of employment litigation.The ideal candidate will be a recent liberal arts graduate with an eye toward law school. The candidate should have strong written and verbal skills, and be able to thrive in a fast-paced collaborative work environment. We are seeking candidates who will be trained to research and analyze case law; creating and editing of graphics; editing, proofing and formatting marketing mini-books; ISBN number purchasing; electronically edit and proofread documents; and drafting case squibs for the Firm’s annual compendium of class action rulings.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Research and analyze case law on Lexis and Westlaw.
- Create, organize, and edit graphics.
- Update and maintain daily rulings tracker.
- Edit, proof, and format marketing mini-books.
- ISBN number purchasing.
- Edit and proof annual compendium of class action rules.
- Perform administrative duties (calendar deadlines, organize squibs, manage logistics, etc.).
- Draft squibs.
- Collaborate with project manager and co-editors.
- Coordinate dissemination and collection of squibs from contributors.
- Provide project updates on a regular basis.
- Engage in proofreading and assist with managing the proofreading team.
- Research publications relevant to caselaw updates and industry trends.
- Explore and track developing trends in various areas of litigation.
- Assist in drafting short-form articles, blogs, and journals
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Investigative mind and strong research skills
- Editorial experience
- Excellent written and communication and time management skills
- Proficient in MS Excel, PowerPoint and Word
