Dubin Research & Consulting (DRC) is a litigation consulting firm based in New York City specializing in jury selection, focus groups, demonstrative aids, and trial strategy for complex civil and criminal matters. The DRC team includes attorneys, psychologists, and graphic designers who work together to help our attorney clients win their cases. The ideal candidate will have a legal background and be comfortable communicating with and selling to AmLaw 100 Litigation Partners. The Sales & Marketing Director must be detail-oriented, have strong organizational, written, and verbal communication skills, and can quickly integrate into a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

We are seeking a dynamic, results-oriented Director of Marketing to lead and build out the marketing function for our growing business. As the first marketing hire in this space, you will have the unique opportunity to design and implement an end-to-end marketing strategy that drives growth and supports our sales efforts. You will play a key role in creating scalable marketing processes, managing multi-channel campaigns, and ensuring our marketing efforts are closely aligned with sales objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Learn All Aspects of DRC’s Business: Immerse yourself in DRC’s unique business and brand to understand how to effectively communicate our value proposition and market our product suite.
  • Marketing Strategy Development & Execution: Build and implement a comprehensive marketing strategy for the DRC brand, aligned with company goals and revenue targets. Develop both short-term tactical campaigns and long-term brand positioning plans.
  • Lead Generation & Demand Generation: Drive lead generation efforts through email marketing, content marketing, paid advertising, SEO/SEM, social media, and other relevant channels. Work closely with the CRO to ensure that marketing efforts generate high-quality leads.
  • CRM Selection & Implementation: Help oversee the selection, implementation, and optimization of CRM software that aligns with our legal services sales processes. Manage the integration of marketing automation tools to streamline lead management, nurture campaigns, and customer journey tracking.
  • Email Campaigns & Nurture Programs: Develop, execute, and optimize segmented email sales and marketing campaigns designed to nurture prospects through the sales funnel. Use data-driven insights to continually improve open rates, click-through rates, and conversions.
  • Tracking, Analytics & ROI Measurement: Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) for marketing activities and measure the effectiveness of campaigns. Track ROI across various marketing channels and campaigns, using data to inform future strategies and decision-making. Provide regular reporting on performance to senior leadership and advisory board.
  • Content Marketing & Thought Leadership: Collaborate with legal experts and internal stakeholders to produce high-quality content (blogs, case studies, whitepapers, webinars, etc.) that resonates with target audiences. Ensure content supports both brand awareness and lead generation. Send out “victory” press releases for notable wins.
  • Collaboration with CRO and Sales Team: Work closely with the CRO to align marketing and sales efforts, ensuring smooth lead handoffs and improving conversion rates. Provide sales enablement materials, such as sales decks, case studies, and email templates.
  • Brand Building & Positioning: Ensure consistent brand messaging across all marketing efforts, building awareness and credibility within the industry. Position the company as a trusted partner to clients by leveraging thought leadership and client success stories.
  • Website Refresh & Content Management: Coordinate with the CRO on a website refresh, ensuring the site’s content is up-to-date, engaging, and aligned with our branding and messaging. Manage ongoing updates to the website, ensuring that it effectively supports lead generation, SEO, and customer engagement.
  • Team Leadership: As the marketing team grows, recruit, manage, and mentor junior marketing staff and other marketing professionals. Foster a high-performance culture focused on collaboration and continuous improvement.
  • Compliance & Industry Best Practices: Stay up-to-date on legal marketing best practices, compliance standards, and industry regulations to ensure that all marketing activities meet legal and ethical standards.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Experience: 8 years of experience in marketing, with at least 4 years in a senior role within the legal services or B2B professional services sector. Proven track record of building and scaling marketing functions in complex industries.
  • Marketing Expertise: Comprehensive understanding of all facets of legal marketing, including content marketing, lead generation, SEO, SEM, paid media, social media, website management and event marketing. Expertise in email marketing and marketing automation tools (e.g., HubSpot, Marketo, Pardot).
  • CRM & Martech Knowledge: Hands-on experience with CRM platforms (Salesforce, HubSpot, or similar) and marketing automation tools. Proven experience leading CRM selection, implementation, and optimization efforts. Ability to integrate CRM and marketing platforms for seamless lead management and reporting.
  • Website Management & SEO: Demonstrated experience in managing website refreshes, overseeing content updates, and optimizing websites for SEO. Knowledge of web analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics, SEMrush, etc.) and conversion optimization best practices.
  • Analytics & Data-Driven: Strong analytical skills, with experience using Google Analytics, CRM analytics, and other data tools to track performance, monitor ROI, and derive actionable insights. Proficient in A/B testing, funnel analysis, and reporting.
  • Leadership & Collaboration: Excellent leadership and people management skills, with experience building, leading, and mentoring teams. Strong collaborative mindset, working cross-functionally with sales, legal teams, and senior leadership.
  • Communication Skills: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills. Ability to craft compelling content, deliver impactful presentations, and represent the company at industry events.
  • Project Management: Excellent project management skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities, work under tight deadlines, and navigate a fast-paced environment.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree, with a focus in Marketing, Business, Communications, or related field preferable (MBA, JD, or advanced degree is a plus).

Salary And Benefits

  • $150,000-$180,000 base salary, plus merit-based annual bonus and commission. Base compensation is commensurate with experience.
