What are the responsibilities and job description for the Executive Director position at DUBLIN YOUTH ATHLETICS?
The Executive Director (ED) will lead Dublin Youth Athletics in achieving its mission and strategic goals. This individual will oversee the organization’s operations, strategic planning, fundraising, and community relations. The ED will work closely with the Board of Directors, staff, volunteers, and stakeholders to ensure the successful delivery of our programs and services.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Leadership and Management:
- Provide visionary leadership and strategic direction to the organization.
- Oversee the organization's day-to-day operations, including program management, staff supervision, and volunteer coordination.
- Foster a positive and inclusive work environment that supports staff and volunteers.
Strategic Planning:
- Develop and implement strategic plans to advance the organization’s mission and goals.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of programs and services and make recommendations for improvement.
Fundraising and Development:
- Lead fundraising efforts to secure financial support from individuals, corporations, and grants.
- Develop and implement strategies to enhance revenue streams and financial sustainability.
- Cultivate relationships with donors, sponsors, and community partners.
Financial Management:
- Oversee the organization’s budget and financial operations, ensuring fiscal responsibility and transparency.
- Prepare and present financial reports to the Board of Directors.
Community Engagement:
- Represent the organization at community events, meetings, and public forums.
- Build and maintain relationships with local schools, community organizations, and stakeholders.
- Promote the organization’s mission and programs to the public and media.
Program Development:
- Ensure the development and implementation of high-quality sports programs that meet the needs of participants.
- Monitor program effectiveness and make necessary adjustments to improve outcomes.
Board Relations:
- Work closely with the Board of Directors to support governance and strategic decision-making.
- Provide regular updates to the Board on organizational performance, challenges, and opportunities.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must hold a bachelor's degree Sports Management, Nonprofit Management, Business Administration, or related field; master' degree preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a leadership role, preferably in a nonprofit, sports management or business administration; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Familiarity with generally accepted accounting principles.
- Strong organizational skills to effectively manage responsibilities.
- Ability to work independently.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency with MS Office programs (Word, Excel), database and web-based programs, and electronic communications.
- Ability to communicate with and relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all community, social, and economic segments.
- Must complete and pass required background check upon hire and every two years thereafter.
- Must complete state-mandated concussion training immediately and keep certification current (renews every 3 years).
- Must possess a valid Ohio Driver’s license and provide own reliable transportation.
- Knowledge of social media outlets, best practices and strategies.
- Dublin, Ohio residents preferred.

- Function as assistant secretary and assistant treasurer to the board.
Salary : $90,000 - $110,000
