DuBois Integrity Academy (DIA) is hiring a Band Director for the 2025-2026 school year.
POSITION SUMMARY: The Band Director will provide an effective instrumental music education to students; duties include all aspects of the band organization, auditions, programming, and rehearsing all music for performances.
Qualifications:
- Applicants must hold or be eligible for a Georgia Educator’s Certificate in K-12 Music
- Applicants must have successful work experiences in a middle school band program, be knowledgeable, and possess organizational and leadership skills to develop all aspects of the band program.
- Successful work experience as a Middle School Band Director is preferred.
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university is required.
- One (1) year teaching experience preferred.
Key Responsibilities:
The ideal candidate for this position will:
- Communicate with the student body and encourage participation in the band activities.
- Plan, rehearse and direct musical experiences for the school
with some scheduled performances per school year. - Oversee scheduling and other arrangements for the rehearsals and concerts.
- Plans and coordinates a comprehensive middle school band program.
- Meets expectations according to the regular middle school teacher job description.
- Presents concerts or programs as directed by the instructional needs of the students and the valid expectations of the community.
- Prepares or obtains music and drill charts for band prior to beginning of rehearsals
- Accompanies and is responsible for the band’s performance at approved civic functions such as parades, dedications, and other ceremonies.
- Encourages and assists students in ensembles, solos, and preparation for auditions.
- Works with other teachers to plan special activities, share ideas and resources, and ensure a quality feeder system for the school band program.
- Develops and maintains good public relations.
- Performs other duties and tasks consistent with the goals and objectives of this position.

- Knowledge of current educational research especially in the field of music education.
- Skill in oral and written communication with students, parents and others.
- Ability to plan and implement activities for maximum effectiveness.
- Ability to work effectively with peers, administrators and others.
