Position Title: K-5 Instructional Coach
Reports To: Principal

Job Summary:
The K-5 Instructional Coach serves as a mentor and support system for teachers, focusing on improving instructional practices, enhancing student achievement, and fostering professional development. This position plays a critical role in job-embedded learning, providing teachers with ongoing guidance, collaborative coaching, and data-driven instructional strategies.
Key Responsibilities:1. Teacher Support & Coaching
- Model research-based instructional strategies in classrooms to support best teaching practices.
- Conduct peer observations, providing constructive feedback and reflective discussions on lesson delivery.
- Guide teachers in implementing differentiated instruction and student-centered learning techniques.
- Assist teachers in setting professional growth goals and developing action plans for instructional improvement.
2. Data Analysis & Instructional Improvement
- Work with teachers to analyze student achievement data and use results to inform instructional decisions.
- Collaborate with school leadership teams to identify instructional strengths and areas for growth.
- Support teachers in using formative and summative assessments effectively to monitor student progress.
3. Professional Development & Training
- Plan and lead ongoing professional development aligned with school and district priorities.
- Facilitate collaborative learning communities (PLCs) and teacher workshops on best instructional practices.
- Stay up-to-date on current educational research and provide training on evidence-based teaching strategies.
4. Curriculum & Instructional Resources
- Support teachers in implementing curriculum aligned with state standards and district guidelines.
- Assist in selecting and integrating instructional resources and technology to enhance student learning.
- Provide coaching on classroom differentiation, intervention strategies, and inclusion practices.
5. Collaboration & School Leadership
- Work closely with administrators, teachers, and staff to create a positive and collaborative school culture.
- Participate in school improvement initiatives, contributing to goal setting and instructional planning.
- Serve as a liaison between teachers and school leadership to ensure effective implementation of instructional goals.
Qualifications:
- Education: Master’s degree in Education, Curriculum & Instruction, or a related field preferred.
- Certification: Valid state teaching certification; additional endorsements in instructional coaching or of successful teaching experience at the elementary level.
Skills & Competencies:
- Strong instructional knowledge in literacy, mathematics, and early childhood education.
- Ability to analyze data and apply findings to instructional strategies.
- Effective coaching and mentoring skills with an emphasis on collaboration.
- Proficiency in technology integration to support teaching and learning.
Work Environment:
- School-based setting, working directly with teachers and administrators.
- Frequent classroom visits, coaching sessions, and professional development facilitation.
