Job Summary
The Paraprofessional plays a crucial role in supporting teachers and enhancing the educational experience for students. This position involves working closely with students, particularly those with diverse learning needs, to facilitate their academic progress and personal development. The Paraprofessional will assist in implementing instructional strategies, managing classroom behavior, and providing individualized support to ensure all students thrive in a positive learning environment.
Duties
- Assist teachers in delivering educational content and engaging students in learning activities.
- Support students with disabilities by providing tailored instruction and assistance as needed.
- Help develop and implement curriculum modifications to accommodate various learning styles and needs.
- Manage classroom behavior by employing effective behavior management techniques.
- Foster a nurturing environment that promotes social, emotional, and academic growth among students.
- Collaborate with teachers to assess student progress and adapt instructional strategies accordingly.
- Supervise students during classroom activities, lunch, recess, and other school events to ensure safety and engagement.
- Maintain accurate records of student performance and behavior for reporting purposes.
Skills
- Strong ability to educate and engage students effectively.
- Experience working with students in an educational or childcare setting is highly desirable.
- Proficient in classroom management techniques to maintain a conducive learning environment.
- Basic understanding of Literacy and math concepts to assist students with their assignments.
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities, including autism, is a plus.
- Ability to implement behavior management strategies tailored to individual student needs.
