DELIVERY DRIVER / SHOP HAND (Part-Time)

COMPANY MISSION: Payless Building Supply | Door and Millwork, in Oroville, CA is a growing local provider to contractors and consumers. We offer a variety of competitively priced doors, millwork and windows with top-notch customer service and a friendly workplace where safety is everyone’s job!

CONTRIBUTION TO COMPANY MISSION:

The Delivery Driver / Shop Hand is a key team member who must have the skills and abilities to load, unload and deliver doors, millwork and windows safely and responsibility to customer locations. Must have a clean driving record and be able to perform all tasks with minimal supervision. The driver will need to be courteous and respectful to all our customers. This position will also assist in the shop when not making deliveries.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES:

• Make daily inspections of trucks and forklifts

• Keep vehicles clean and orderly

• Operate all equipment as per safety instructions

• Secure all loads carefully and properly (do not exceed load limits on trucks and forklifts)

• Review delivery instructions and make sure you understand them before you leave the yard

• Load truck with forklift and hand unload at customer sites

• Unload delivery truck with forklift

• Communicate with customers to accommodate delivery requests to the best of our ability without compromising safety

• Drive carefully and courteously. Remember, our name is on the truck!

• Report accidents immediately, per our safety policy

This job description is general in nature and broad in scope. It is intended to be used as a guide. Duties will vary as needed. The General Manager is to determine each employee’s duties and responsibilities.

ATTITUDE: Payless Building Supply is a team operation. We expect our employees to be courteous and professional to our customers and to each other. We will not tolerate abusive language or physical force against a customer or another employee.

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITY:

• Valid driver’s license/must be insurable

• Knowledge of products and materials is a plus

• Previous driving experience with truck and trailer & clean driving record

• Ability to effectively communicate

• Forklift experience preferred

PHYISICAL DEMANDS:

• Lift up to 100 lbs. independently

• Bend, stoop, kneel or crouch with manual dexterity

• Reach overhead to grasp material

• Climb on and off a forklift repeatedly

• Walk on uneven surfaces

• Extreme climate conditions (Summer heat, Winter cold)

POSITION IS LOCATED IN OROVILLE, CA

Part-Time – Changing schedule Monday through Friday based on business needs

Starting wage: $19 to $20 DOE
