Duck Creek's Summer Internship program is from
May 19, 2025 - August 8, 2025 . The program is intended for current students in the Boston area taking coursework in related fields to gain practical work experience in their area of study. Our engaging intern program includes opportunities to connect with company leaders, partner with peer interns, all while advancing skillsets related to outlined project-based work.
WHAT WE WILL CALL THIS POSITION :
User Experience Intern
WHAT YOU'LL DO :
The User Experience (UX) Intern will do user research and / or create UX designs within our dynamic and talented team that encourages exploration and collaboration. You'll learn the world of enterprise application design using our design system and researching and designing all within Agile methodology practices.
UX Intern will assist in conducting user research activities including stakeholder interviews, usability testing, and competitive analysis to understand user needs and pain points, while learning to synthesize findings into actionable insights that inform design decisions.
UX Intern will create user flows, wireframes, and interactive prototypes using industry-standard tools like Figma or Sketch, iterating based on feedback from the design team and incorporating enterprise design system components and patterns.
Participate in design critiques and review sessions, presenting your work to cross-functional team members while developing skills in articulating design decisions and incorporating constructive feedback effectively.
UX Intern will assist in researching, designing and updating user persona documentation library including persona cards, persona database and related artifacts.
UX Intern will actively participate in team meetings and agile ceremonies, contributing insights from a user experience perspective while learning about enterprise software development processes and cross-functional collaboration.
WHAT YOU'VE DONE :
In the process of attaining a degree in human computer interactions, cognitive sciences or related fields of study or practical job experience in similar role of function such as UX research or design.
2-3 years of course work or related job experience in human computer interactions, cognitive sciences or related fields of study
Demonstrates strong foundation in user-centered design principles and methodologies
Demonstrates interest in understanding human behavior and problem-solving, shown through relevant coursework in psychology, human-computer interaction, cognitive science, or related fields.
Demonstrates solid analytical and problem-solving abilities, including experience conducting basic usability testing, analyzing user feedback, and making data-informed design decisions while balancing multiple stakeholder needs.
Demonstrates strong interpersonal, communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to effectively present design or research work, articulate design decisions, and incorporate feedback from team members and stakeholders in a professional manner.
Demonstrates proficiency in design and prototyping tools like Figma, Sketch, or Adobe XD, with portfolio showcasing wireframes, user flows, and interactive prototypes that show clear thought process and problem-solving abilities.
WHAT ADDITIONAL INFORMATION YOU MAY WANT TO KNOW :
Hybrid Commitment : 2-3 days per week in office located at 100 Summer Street, Boston, MA
