JOB DESCRIPTION
The Communications Coordinator will assist with the development of content for internal and external communications to promote the Cooperative's image and reputation in a favorable light. This includes, but not limited to The Tennessee Magazine, office monitors, and residential and commercial energy programs.
JOB DESCRIPTION
Internal Responsibility -
Assist with ensuring the DREMC team is informed of relevant cooperative news using all internal communication outlets and maintain a productive relationship with other DREMC departments and responds to inquiries and requests in a timely and professional manner.
External Responsibility -
Assist with conveying DREMC's mission, programs, and services to the membership through all external communication outlets while maintaining a productive relationship with affiliate organizations, news media, cooperative members and represents the Cooperative at community events.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES : Assists with contributing, proofing, and editing of monthly newsletters, magazines and other materials.Has general knowledge of the DREMC website and associated software.Knowledgeable of DREMC programs and services, including billing / payment options, the mobile app and the online payment portal and can communicate them effectively.Has general knowledge of social media platforms.Aids in designing advertisements, brochures, social media graphics and a variety of digital and printed materials.Responds to advertising opportunities, community event requests and member inquiries per DREMC's guidelines.Assists with photography and videography as needed.Assists with school programs including the Washington Youth Tour, TVA's School Uplift Program, DREMC-sponsored contests and educational demonstrations.Assists the Communications Department with the planning and day-of responsibilities for a variety of member workshops, DREMC Annual Meeting and various employee, community and retiree events.Maintains an awareness of DREMC's goals and vision.Consistently demonstrates an intense intellectual curiosity that is controlled by sound business judgment in the best interests of DREMC.May be required to attend training related to communications to stay up to date on current practices.May be required to travel as a DREMC representative for various youth programs.Assist the Communications Department with the administration and promotion of residential and commercial energy-efficiency programs.Emergency response coverage as needed.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education
- High school diploma required. Post-secondary degree in communications, marketing, advertising, digital media or public relations preferred.
Experience
Certification / License, etc.
