The Duckhorn Portfolio is North America’s premier luxury wine company. We were established in 1976 by Dan and Margaret Duckhorn. Today, our portfolio features some of North America’s most revered wineries, including Decoy, Paraduxx, Goldeneye, Migration, Canvasback, Calera, Kosta Browne, Greenwing, Postmark, and Sonoma-Cutrer.

The Business Development Representative for California Wholesale is responsible for driving sales growth by effectively communicating our brand value proposition, cultivating relationships with customers, and maximizing sales opportunities. This role requires a passion for wine, strong communication skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, target-driven environment.

What we will ask you to do :

  • Develops and executes sales strategies to achieve revenue targets and market share objectives within the California distribution network.
  • Builds and maintains strong relationships with retailers, and key stakeholders to drive sales and distribution of the company’s portfolio in California.
  • Conducts outbound sales calls and emails to identify customer needs, prospects and qualifies leads, and promotes our wines effectively.
  • Collaborates with the Sales team to coordinate promotional activities, tastings, and events to increase brand awareness and drive sales volume.
  • Provides exceptional customer service by promptly addressing inquiries, resolving issues, and ensuring customer satisfaction.
  • Utilizes CRM tools to track sales activities, manage accounts, and analyze sales data to identify trends and opportunities for growth.
  • Stays informed about market trends, competitor activities, and industry developments to make informed recommendations and adjustments to sales strategies.
  • Participates in sales meetings, training sessions, and trade events to enhance product knowledge and sales skills.
  • Ensures that all transactions and customer interactions adhere to local and federal alcohol beverage regulations and company compliance standards.

What you will need :

  • Previous experience in inside sales, preferably wine.
  • Strong track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets and objectives.
  • Ability to identify customer needs and provide effective solutions.
  • Familiarity with CRM software and sales automation tools.
  • Ability to engage and persuade effectively.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Strong math and computer skills.
