Position Overview:The Director of Sales will be responsible for leading, managing, mentoring, and coaching a dynamic Sales Team of five direct reports. This key role is crucial to our sales strategy, and the individual will be tasked with driving performance, fostering a high-performing team culture, and ensuring the achievement of sales goals. The Director of Sales will also be responsible for customer contract negotiations, collaborating with internal teams, and aligning sales efforts with production and harvesting to ensure customers receive the highest quality product on time.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead, manage, and mentor a high-performing Sales Team of five direct reports.
Set clear sales goals and objectives for the team, and ensure these goals are consistently met.
Lead and manage customer contract negotiations, ensuring favorable terms for both the company and our customers.
Collaborate with the production and harvesting teams to obtain real-time information regarding product quality and supply, and communicate this information to the Sales Team to ensure alignment.
Develop and implement strategies to increase sales, enhance customer satisfaction, and grow the customer base.
Track and analyze sales performance data, identifying areas for improvement and growth.
Foster a collaborative, results-driven environment where team members are encouraged to grow, learn, and succeed.
Maintain strong relationships with key customers and industry partners.
Ensure that the Sales Team is fully equipped with the necessary tools, training, and resources to excel in their roles.
Participate in the annual budgeting and ongoing planning processes.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Agriculture, or related field (preferred).
A minimum of 5 years of experience in sales leadership, preferably within the agriculture or food production industry.
Proven track record of successfully leading and mentoring sales teams, with a focus on driving results.
Strong negotiation and communication skills.
Ability to work cross-functionally and collaborate with production, harvesting, and other internal teams.
Analytical mindset with the ability to track and interpret sales data to make informed decisions.
High level of initiative and problem-solving ability.
Strong understanding of the agriculture industry and market trends is a plus.
