The Belle Glade location is seeking a skilled and experienced Mechanic I to join our Maintenance team. As an integral member of our Maintenance department, this individual will play a key role in ensuring the continuous operation and efficiency of our production machinery and systems. The ideal candidate should have strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot and understand regulations and safety protocols.
Job Summary
The individual in the Mechanic I – Maintenance role is responsible for supporting the maintenance department in the prompt response and repair of daily mechanical or electrical equipment occurrences affecting production systems.
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Complete job order, complete repairs, and diagnose problems.
Repair equipment, pumps, conveyors, electrical motors, hydraulics, etc.
Repair any mechanical malfunction, whether in shop or complex.
Electrical troubleshooting and repairs of production line conveyors and machines.
Installation and repairs of freon refrigeration systems, air conditioners, chillers, condensers, and evaporators. Follow corrective and preventative maintenance for all the refrigeration systems in the complex.
Installation and repairs of lights, breaker panels, motor control centers, transformers, automated controls, maintenance troubleshooting, and repairs of electrical motors.
Ensure safe work practices by following safety rules and regulations.
Willingness to work flexible hours, including overtime and weekends as needed.
Perform other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
High school diploma – preferred
Minimum of 1 - 2 years of experience in electrical, mechanical, refrigeration, hydraulic maintenance (preferably in a food processing or industrial environment).
Strong mechanical aptitude and problem solving skills; ability to work independent and as part of a team.
Regular climbing, stooping and bending required.
Ability to lift 25 – 80 lbs. regularly.
Ability to work independently and in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to anticipate work needs and interact professionally with managers, departments, and Maintenance team.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Proficient communication skills; Must be able to speak, read and write in English. Bi-lingual Spanish is preferred

Valid Driver License
First Aid Certificate/CPR Training (Company will train)
