Tax Specialist
Company: A. Duda & Sons, Inc.
Location: Oviedo, Florida
Position Overview: We are seeking a Tax Specialist to assist with the preparation of sales, property, and income tax compliance across various state and local jurisdictions. This role also involves maintaining shareholder stock records.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare monthly sales tax returns and exemptions, quarterly fuel tax returns, and annual heavy vehicle returns.
Assist with the preparation of state tax returns.
Prepare tangible personal property tax returns, accruals, budgets, and payments.
Maintain shareholder stock records, including payment of dividends, redemptions, and administration of stock ownership changes.
Handle bookkeeping for the Duda Private Foundation, including estimated quarterly payments, yearly donation checks, and annual reports.
Support tax and fixed asset team members with administrative duties such as inputting journal entries, updating Excel worksheets, and account reconciliation.
Maintain files and paperwork for capital addition projects, including preparing fixed asset additions and retirements.
Prepare contract summaries for fixed asset acquisitions and disposals and compile packages for external auditors.
Qualifications:
Associate’s Degree in Accounting or Tax.
Minimum of 1 year of experience in accounting or tax.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
Strong attention to detail and multi-tasking skills.
