Position: Recon Analyst (Full-Time Traveling)
Location: Detroit, Chicago, and Indianapolis area (Regional & Nationwide Travel)
Salary: $50,000–$65,000 annually
Travel: 26 weeks/year, including weekends, flights, meals, and car rental covered
Administrative Remote: ~20 hours/week during non-travel periods
Position Overview: We are looking for a motivated individual to join our team as a full-time Recon Analyst. This is an exciting traveling position where you’ll inspect large mobile home park developments across multiple regions and nationwide. Key Responsibilities:
- Inspection & Analysis: Inspect and analyze mobile home parks, focusing on infrastructure such as sewer systems, electrical setups, landscaping, signage, and roads.
- Investigative Work: Use drones, cameras, and detailed reporting to identify any issues with property infrastructure and staff.
- Reporting: Generate thorough reports with high accuracy, which are photo-heavy and annotated using tools like Microsoft Excel, Spectora, DroneDeploy, and Slack. Reports must be submitted 3-5 days after inspections.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
- Backgrounds such as retired EMTs, police officers, military personnel, or similar experience preferred.
- Comfortable working solo or in pairs in sometimes challenging environments.
- Strong investigative mindset, with the ability to blend in, ask the right questions, and pay close attention to detail.
- Comfortable traveling for extended periods and handling tasks in cold, wet, or harsh conditions.
- Must be organized, self-sufficient, and able to manage time and work independently.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Previous experience working outdoors in adverse conditions; familiarity with safety awareness in challenging environments.
- No inspection or construction experience is necessary; however, a keen eye for detail is critical.
- Ability to type at least 40 WPM and comfortable using drones, cameras, and reporting software.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to gather and interpret information from varied sources.
Work Environment & Physical Requirements:
- Walk up to 5 miles daily and stand for up to 10 hours.
- Lift up to 25 lbs and work in cold, wet, or harsh conditions.
- The role requires a high level of physical and mental endurance due to the nature of the tasks and environments.
Performance Expectations & Metrics:
- You will be expected to meet 100% accuracy in reporting, with no margin for error.
- Success is measured through quality audits and the timely submission of reports.
- If the reports are inaccurate, continued employment is not possible.
