The must’s…
- Love animals, be able to treat them with kindness and respect, while also maintaining control
- Be comfortable handling dogs of all breeds, sizes, and attitudes
- Has excellent customer service and communication skills
- Enjoys hiking and walking in both city and nature trail environments
- Is able to work autonomously and make decisions that are in-line with company guidance
- Is reliable, communicative, and trustworthy
Job duties include (but are not limited to):
- Walking and/or hiking with 1-4 dogs at the same time
- Facilitating dog’s exercise and socialization in a fun and safe environment
- Driving to and from client’s homes for walks, and if hiking transporting dogs to nearby nature trails
- Managing dogs in vehicles and on walks or hikes
- Picking up & disposing of pet waste
- Communicating with management about pet’s behavior and providing updates to clients at each visit including pictures and a progress report
- Being aware and engaged while with a client’s pet
Requirements:
- 20 years of age or older
- Available 2-3 days per week
- Must have a valid driver’s license with a safe driving record
- Must own a reliable vehicle suitable for safely transporting up to 2 dogs
- Have a smartphone with reliable service, GPS tracking for walks/hikes, and be able to use the apps required to perform your duties
- Must be able to perform the physical demands of the job for your entire shift. That includes, but is not limited to: walking, hiking, handling dogs of varying strength, being able to pay attention while outside.
- Great communication skills
- Ability to work autonomously
- Be able to manage your time and keep to a schedule
- Must live within reasonable distance to our service areas
- Experience is welcome, but will train the right candidate
Job Type:
- Part Time (2-3 days a week). 12 pm - 4pm
- Opportunity for after hours work. This includes 15 minute let-outs, walks, weekends, and in-home overnights
