Due West Hideaways is seeking a part-time Facilities Laborer to assist with general maintenance, landscaping, and construction projects. This is an hourly position with the potential to transition into full-time. The ideal candidate should be hardworking, detail-oriented, and capable of performing physically demanding tasks in an outdoor environment.
This role involves semi-skilled and basic construction work, grounds maintenance, and property upkeep. Responsibilities include mowing, landscaping, minor building repairs, and assisting with special events. The Facilities Laborer will work under the supervision of the Manager to ensure all areas of the property remain clean, safe, and well-maintained.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform grounds & building maintenance, including mowing, weed-eating, hedge trimming, planting, edging, mulching, and irrigation repair.
- Assist with minor construction projects such as pouring concrete, basic carpentry, plumbing, and facility repairs.
- Maintain the property by removing trash, recycling, and clearing debris.
- Prepare and maintain driveways, pathways, and fields through dragging, lining, and layout.
- Conduct seasonal maintenance, including leaf cleanup in fall and winter.
- Assist in setting up, maintaining, and cleaning event spaces for weddings, reunions, and other gatherings.
- Operate and perform routine maintenance on equipment; report malfunctions to the Manager.
- Follow all safety procedures, including OSHA, Federal, and State regulations.
- Wear appropriate personal protective equipment when required.
- Maintain cleanliness in all facilities, including restrooms, event venues, glamping suites, and common areas.
- Complete additional duties as assigned to support the overall upkeep of the property.
- Complete routine pool checks and maintenance
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift 60-80 lbs regularly for tasks such as moving materials, landscaping, and maintenance work.
- Must be able to stand, walk, bend, kneel, reach, climb and perform repetitive motions for extended periods.
- Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Previous experience in landscaping, construction, or facilities maintenance preferred.
- Ability to operate and maintain equipment and knowledge of how tools work.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
- Reliable transportation to and from job.
Work Schedule & Environment:
- Part-time position, with typical weekday hours between 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM (start time flexible between 8-10 AM).
