Duet (www.duet.org) is an innovative college and career non-profit founded in 2014. Through a partnership with Southern New Hampshire University (SNHU), we help students in New England earn college degrees and obtain career track jobs. We do this by pairing SNHU’s accredited, online, competency-based curriculum with start-to-finish coaching and support services from Duet as students earn associate and bachelor’s degrees affordably and on an accelerated timeline with a focus on employment and career advancement. Duet has helped students earn more than 400 associate and bachelor’s degrees from SNHU to date. With a proven model, Duet is now investing in building out its team that will recruit, enroll, and coach more students.
ABOUT THE ROLE (Position Summary)
The Duet Career Services team is dedicated to promoting a highly individualized, strengths-based and reflection-driven approach to career planning, and we believe that’s what sets us apart. We help students develop goals in line with their own values and priorities and identify and overcome any obstacles that may be preventing them from reaching those goals. We are currently seeking our next Career Success Manager (CSM). This is a new role that will support Duet students and graduates with skillfully navigating career transitions and making important and informed decisions about their professional lives. The CSM will work with an active caseload of around 50 AA & BA student and graduate clients to identify each person’s interests, values, priorities and transferable experiences and help them develop a "Next Steps" plan that is aligned with their individual goals.
Services can include: helping clients to explore accessible career options; working with them to decode job descriptions and highlight their transferable skills in their resume and cover letters; providing pre-interview, salary negotiation and on-the-job situational coaching; identifying and sharing resources for further career and education planning.
This role will have particular focus on a caseload of high-priority, high-impact recent and soon-to-be graduates, who will be identified using a combination of qualitative and quantitative data. The Career Success Manager reports to the Director of Career Services and will also provide conditional support with Career Services events, outreach and data updates.
- Salary range is $78K to $85K
- Hybrid role-need to be able to be in Boston 2 days a week and meet students in person throughout MA and southern NH.

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
We’re looking for candidates with: (Minimum Qualifications)
· 5 years of full-time or equivalent experience providing coaching to early-to-mid career professionals -- in other words, work and lived experience that has allowed you to develop a good sense of how to guide people toward their professional goals
· Demonstrated ability to quickly build meaningful relationships with a diverse range (age, background, experience level) of professionals
· A commitment to the deeply held belief that all students have the right to access a college degree and a career-track job
· Strong foundational understanding of professional norms and expectations in the United States, especially those related to current job search and hiring practices; knowledge of general and industry-specific digital job search platforms and tools
· Comfort using a CRM database to update and track data and manage a full caseload
· Excellent attention to detail; strong writing, editing and proofreading skills
· Experience resolving difficult challenges by identifying creative solutions
· Proven ability to manage shifting priorities without compromising the quality of service to all students
· Growth mindset, perseverance, adaptability and strong problem-solving skills
· Reflective and responsive approach to feedback from managers and team members
· Curiosity, empathy, and a dedication to continuous learning and improvement

- Proficiency using Salesforce, MailChimp, Canva, Huntr and/or any software and applications with similar functionality
- Direct experience with recruitment and hiring, especially for roles in healthcare, finance, tech or marketing/communications
- Experience working with higher education academic and career advising offices and/or workforce development organizations
- Track record of success with job placement and employee retention
- Professional coaching or human resources training/certification (ie. GCDF, CCSP, CPRW, SHRM-CP, ICF accreditation)
