The individual selected for this role will be responsible for the preparation of daily snacks and meals throughout the childcare facility.1. Design nutritious and balanced menus suitable for children of varying ages, considering dietary restrictions, allergies, and cultural preferences.
2. Prepare meals and snacks according to planned menus in accordance with nutrition standards for meals and snacks to comply with the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) guidelines under Title XX.
3. Ensure food meets quality and safety standards. This includes washing, chopping, cooking, and portioning food appropriately.
4. Execute cooking tasks efficiently, ensuring that meals are served at appropriate times and temperatures. Serve meals in an appealing and conducive way to children's dining experience.
5. Adhere strictly to food safety and hygiene protocols, maintaining a clean and organized kitchen environment. Follow proper storage procedures to prevent spoilage and contamination.
6. Be vigilant about allergies and dietary restrictions among children, ensuring that meals are prepared and served safely to accommodate these needs.
7. Monitor inventory levels of food and kitchen supplies and communicate needs to management promptly. Assist in the ordering and receiving of supplies, as necessary.
8. Regularly clean and sanitize kitchen equipment, utensils, and food preparation areas. Ensure that kitchen appliances are working properly and report any maintenance issues to the appropriate personnel.
9. Maintain open and clear communication with daycare staff regarding meal plans, special dietary considerations, and any other relevant information pertaining to food service.
10. Keep accurate records of meals served, including menus, portion sizes, and any incidents related to food safety or dietary concerns. Assist in maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements.
11. Regular attendance is an essential requirement of the position to offer children and parents consistency.

EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:
1. High School Diploma/ GED.
2. Must be 18 years of age or older.
