Job Summary :
The Chief Financial Officer position is responsible for producing accurate financial statements, tax returns, and other management reports. This critical role effectively works toward establishing and maintaining the organization's accounting best practices, principles, procedures, and initiatives. The role will report to President Joe Webb to aid in the development and priorities through financial management, budgeting, and accounting. Direct reports include the Director of Finance, Director of Accounting, Payroll, and Vice President of Information Technology, with a dotted line to Director of Human Resources.
The Chief Financial Officer will be charged with delivering exceptional business and financial acumen, contract review, and negotiation skills to drive effective, sustainable growth. This position will be responsible for providing leadership to the accounting team to ensure accounting procedures and reporting conform to generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
Specifically, they will be responsible for :
- Developing the organization's financial well-being by providing financial projections and accounting services, preparing growth plans, and directing staff
- Accomplishing finance, human resources, and IT strategies by determining accountabilities; communicating and enforcing values, policies, and procedures; and planning and reviewing compensation strategies
- Developing finance organizational strategies by contributing financial and accounting information, analysis, and recommendations to strategic thinking and direction and establishing functional objectives in line with organizational objectives
- Develop strong landlord relations and supply analysis and site selection model data to aid in new unit development decision making including lease negotiations
- Establishing operational finance strategies by evaluating trends; establishing critical measurements; determining production, productivity, quality, and customer-service strategies; designing systems; accumulating resources; resolving problems; and implementing change
- Developing organization prospects by studying economic trends and revenue opportunities; projecting acquisition and expansion prospects; analyzing organization operations; identifying opportunities for improvement, cost reduction, and systems enhancement; and accumulating capital to fund expansion
- Preparing and delivering timely and accurate annual financial reporting, planning and analysis to the leadership team, and unit-level operators
- Developing financial strategies by forecasting capital, facilities, and staff requirements; identifying monetary resources; and developing action plans
- Monitoring financial performance by measuring and analyzing results, initiating corrective actions, and minimizing the impact of variances
- Maximizing return on invested funds by identifying opportunities and maintaining relationships with the investment community
- Reporting financial status by developing forecasts, reporting results, analyzing variances, and developing improvements
- Accomplishing finance and organization Corporate Beliefs by completing related results as needed
