Safety Manager
Job Description:
The Safety Manager will be responsible for developing and implementing safety policies and procedures to ensure a safe work environment for all employees. The Safety Manager will work closely with management and employees to identify potential hazards and develop strategies to mitigate risks. The Safety Manager will also be responsible for conducting safety training and ensuring compliance with all local, state, and federal safety regulations.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement safety policies and procedures
- Identify potential hazards and develop strategies to mitigate risks
- Conduct safety training for employees
- Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal safety regulations
- Investigate accidents and incidents and develop corrective actions
- Manage safety programs and initiatives
- Collaborate with management and employees to promote a culture of safety
- Identifies opportunities to minimize workplace injuries, accidents, and health problems.
- Conducts employee training on applicable safety standards.
- Oversees CDL Drug Screenings, FMCSA Compliance, Driver Files and active Automotive Insurance Roster.
- Reviews safety training and recommends revisions, improvements, and updates.
- Conducts safety inspections and audits to assess employee compliance with safety regulations.
- Inspects safety equipment; recommends replacements.
- Drafts and implements internal safety standards and policies for all employees and drivers.
- Reviews accidents and incidents reported by employees and visitors to the facility.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Safety Background, OSHA certified, Forklift Certified
- Experience with FMCSA Compliance
- 5 years of experience in safety management
- Knowledge of local, state, and federal safety regulations
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Ability to travel throughout facility to conduct safety inspections.
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
