Ashley Furniture HomeStore, the #1 Mattress and Furniture retailer in North America, has an immediate opening for a Payroll Manager. The ideal candidate manages the payroll function of processing timecards, compiling payroll statistics, maintaining payroll control records, recording hours of work and calculating payrolls. This position oversees the compiling, importing and auditing of employee time and payroll data. Manages compilation and preparation of other payroll data including 401k, insurance, garnishments, and flexible spending accounts. Interprets company policies and government regulations in connection with payroll procedures and works with UltiPro to ensure accurate preparation of government payroll reports.
**This role is based in Memphis, TN. and is hybrid**

KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manages and processes the bi-weekly transfer of payroll data.
- Interprets company policy to employees and enforces payroll regulations.
- Analyzes and audits payroll for accuracy.
- Compiles and analyzes internal management reports from payroll system software. Updating and maintaining employee information in time clock system.
- Compile payroll data such as garnishments, vacation time, insurance and 401(k) deductions.
- Import time clock data and review the downloaded information for completeness and accuracy.
- Contact various department supervisors for any missed times or vacation approvals needed.
- Answering any payroll questions as they arise and follow up in a timely manner
- Auditing payroll for errors
- Process bi-weekly transfer of payroll data
- Other duties as assigned
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:
- Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related area
- 5 or more years in Payroll and Payroll related processes
- Experience in Ultimate Software or similar HRIS systems preferred
- Strong understanding of discretion and confidentiality
- Time management
- Excellent communication skills
