What are the responsibilities and job description for the RETAIL INVENTORY CONTROL SUPERVISOR position at Dufresne Spencer Group?
Ashley Furniture HomeStore, the #1 Mattress and Furniture retailer in North America, has an immediate opening for a Retail Inventory Control Supervisor. The ideal candidate is responsible to provide the Director of Retail Inventory support related to Management and control over corporate inventory assets through the completion of timely reports and documentation that will assist in the disposition and categorization, that are required to maintain the safety and integrity of those assets.
KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Collet data from all Inventory Audits / W2W counts and cycle counts and review performance, execution, and trends with Director of Inventory.
- Ensure Store counts for all regions are completed in a timely and accurate manner and verify the process is fully completed.
- Train the Auditors on expected job performance and review progress at the end of each month to report to Director of Inventory.
- Audits of various facilities inventory management practices on a scheduled basis.
- Work with Location Manager’s and Inventory Auditors at resolving inventory discrepancies and ensuring the best practices of inventory management are being followed.
- Work effectively and efficiently with cross-functional teams, including those from accounting, marketing, purchasing, showrooms, and warehouse locations.
- Support and conduct audits of completed location counts above target budget.
- Review, consolidate, and turn in results from counts from all regions to Director of Inventory at the end of each month.
- Review monthly Showroom Shrink/ costs and provide it to Director of Inventory as required.
- Ensuring the upkeep on all Documented spreadsheets / and cycle count inputs. Report month end counts to Management.
- Assist the Director of Inventory in improving processes and procedures to reduce inventory shrink.
- Assist in Investigating and resolve inventory issues at stores locations on a timely basis through the effective interaction with Store Managers.
- Maintain proficiency in computerized systems and processes.
- Able to travel to all locations conducting audits and filling in when someone from the Inventory department may be out. Inventory counts and performing Inventory Audits.
- Report monthly reports on each location, and quarterly report card on all your locations.
- Attend quarterly meetings with the Director of Inventory.
- Identify failures to execute proper inventory management and reporting cases to appropriate members of management.
- Work and assist on Loss Prevention tasks as needed. (Audit locations Security)
- Other duties responsibilities as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:
- High School Diploma.

1-2 years’ experience working in inventory or a related area.
- Efficient in Microsoft programs, Word and Excel.
