What are the responsibilities and job description for the Concrete Industry Management Intern Safety Technician position at Duininck Concrete?

As a Safety Intern, you will work closely with our Safety team to support various aspects of safety management in the ready-mix concrete industry. This internship is designed to provide exposure to safety protocols, hazard identification, incident reporting, and overall safety program administration. The ideal candidate will have a passion for safety, excellent communication skills, and a willingness to learn and contribute to a culture of safety excellence.
Responsible For:
- Safety Inspections:
- Assist in conducting regular safety inspections and audits of facilities, equipment, and work areas.
- Identify potential hazards and contribute to the development of corrective action plans.
- Incident Reporting and Investigation:
- Support the process of incident reporting and investigation.
- Collaborate with the Safety Team to analyze incident data and recommend preventive measures.
- Safety Training:
- Assist in organizing and facilitating safety training sessions for employees.
- Contribute to the development of safety training materials and resources.
- Safety Program Administration:
- Support the implementation and maintenance of the company's safety programs.
- Contribute to the preparation of safety reports and documentation.
- Emergency Response Planning:
- Assist in the development and testing of emergency response plans.
- Participate in drills and exercises to evaluate the effectiveness of emergency procedures.
What we are looking for:
- Current college level student with major in Concrete Industry Management.
- Familiarity with all commonly used computer software (MS OfficeSuite, etc.).
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Detail-oriented with a passion for promoting a culture of safety.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
