What are the responsibilities and job description for the Quality Control Tech I - Alexandria position at Duininck Concrete?
As the Quality Control Technician, I perform field and lab tests on ready-mix concrete to ensure compliance with ACI, ASTM, and DOT standards. This is a seasonal, entry-level role that provides hands-on experience in concrete testing and mix performance evaluation.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Conduct slump, air content, unit weight, and temperature tests.
- Collect and document concrete samples from production sites.
- Assist with mix adjustments to maintain quality.
- Maintain and calibrate testing equipment.
- Accurately record and report test results.
- Follow all safety protocols and procedures.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to obtain ACI Concrete Field-Testing Technician Grade I certification within 12 months of hire.
- Ability to obtain MnDOT Plant/Agg/Field/Strength certification within 12 months of hire.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs and work outdoors
- Must be willing to work early mornings, some nights, and some weekends
- Valid drivers license (regularly required to drive and navigate to job sites)
- Travel as required
PREFFERED:
- ACI Concrete Field-Testing Technician Grade 2
- MnDOT Plant/Agg/Field/Strength certified
