As a Dispatcher at Duininck Inc., you will work under the direction of the Logistics Manager to coordinate and dispatch CDL drivers and company vehicles to job sites across the region. This critical role ensures our drivers and equipment are where they need to be, when they need to be theresafely and in compliance with all regulations. You'll be a key player in supporting logistics operations, licensing and permitting, compliance with DOT/FMCSA requirements, and communication between drivers and internal departments.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Develop daily trucking schedules and assign Duininck drivers and equipment. Secure third-party haulers as needed.
- Seek out and respond to requests from Supervisors related to trucking and equipment needs.
- Assist with identifying third-party trucking companies.
- Direct and communicate with drivers regarding their assignments and schedules.
- Assist with annual permits and licenses (annual, trip, state, county, and city) to ensure compliance.
- Assist with licensing, registration, and sticker placement for commercial vehicles.
- Assist with monitoring CDL drivers for current Health Cards, licenses, and required endorsements.
- Assist with DOT, FMCSA, permitting, truck weight, and licensing issues.
- Retain all required documentation including Pre-trip/Post-trip Inspections and Log Sheets.
- Provide support with scale duties when needed.
- Participate in driver training on safety and compliance-related topics.
- Collaborate with Logistics Managers to improve safety practices and ensure regulatory compliance.
- Escalate serious issues to the Logistics Management.
- Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- 3 years of experience in dispatch or heavy civil industry preferred.
- Knowledge of permitting and licensing requirements in construction and trucking industries is preferred.
- Valid Drivers License required; CDL (Class A) strongly preferred.
- Comfortable using Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word, Teams) and other business software.
- Excellent decision-making and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communicator with strong interpersonal skills.
- Must be highly organized, self-motivated, and able to manage multiple priorities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Willingness to travel throughout Central and Western Minnesota, Northern Iowa, and the Eastern Dakotas.
