HRD Assistant Golf Professional

Hart Ranch Golf Club is looking for an Assistant Golf Professional to join our team! Hart Ranch Golf Club is located in the foothills of the Black Hills near Rapid City, South Dakota. The 18-hole course is one of the most beautiful, challenging, and fun golf recreation experiences in the area. The Assistant Golf Professional is instrumental in organizing and implementing golf events, tournaments, outings, leagues, and other golf programs designed to improve Hart Ranch Golf Club’s products, services, and competitive position in the marketplace. The Assistant Golf Professional plans and conducts golf lessons and clinics, and assists the Director of Golf with outside service, golf shop, and bar operations and activities. This is a full-time position.

Responsibilities and Essential Functions:

• Assist with organizing and implementing tournaments, leagues, group outings, and special events.
• Plan and conduct individual and group lesson programs and golf clinics.
• Ensure efficient operations of golf shop, cart service, and other services.
• Ensure daily procedures are followed to open, close, and secure the golf shop and storage buildings and they are maintained per Company cleanliness and appearance standards.
• Schedule tee times and assist with organizing and maintaining ancillary services such as the handicapping system, membership programs, and driving range facilities.
• Interact with pass-holders, members, and guests in a congenial and professional manner.
• Handle customer inquiries and complaints in accordance with operating policies and procedures.
• Manage Golf Handicap and Information Network (GHIN) computer and provide staff training on GHIN computer.
• Maintain information on Company website and email database.
• Create Facebook content (i.e. golf shop and course pictures and happenings) to be posted on the company account.
• Manage golf shop, outside service, and bar staff to ensure performance.
• Handle cash flow in the golf shop, ensuring that cash and credit card charges balance with sales receipts in accordance with operating procedures.
• Assist with physical inventory in accordance with inventory procedures including receiving, invoices, inventory counts, and signage. Maintain clean, presentable, and fully stocked merchandise displays.
• Maintain a working knowledge of golf shop merchandise. Sell merchandise and/or provide suggestions to patrons as appropriate to meet their needs.
• Perform additional duties as required.

Requirements and Qualifications:

• At least one year of golf and outside service-related experience.
• Experience in retail, food and beverage, and customer service is preferred.
• Interpersonal skills with the proven ability to provide excellent customer service.
• Ability to analyze, solve problems, and handle multiple duties under pressure with minimal supervision.
• Maintain a positive attitude and professional appearance in all situations.
• Ability to lift merchandise and product.
• Strong verbal and written skills.
• Ability to work flexible hours as required by the position, including evenings and weekends.
• Associate’s degree is preferred.
