We are seeking a Staff Accountant to perform day-to-day general accounting, reporting and analysis across multiple entities and functional areas in our global business. The individual will be responsible for specific tasks and transactions and have the opportunity to be involved in process improvement initiatives. Through joining an experienced Finance team, the individual will be able to learn and grow in the team with a career path through to more senior level roles.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform regular general ledger activities, including posting journal entries, adjusting the trial balance, and calculating accruals and deferrals. Conduct balance sheet reconciliations and account analysis to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Execute month-end and year-end closing activities, including posting journal entries, reviewing trial balances, and reconciling accounts.
- Perform daily review of expenses and invoices submitted by the enterprise for accuracy and validity.
- Manage employee enter/exit process, provide orientation training to new hires on relevant topics (expense submission, etc.).
- Assist in the review and analysis of monthly financial results.
- Support the preparation of monthly and ad-hoc presentation materials for management.
- Maintain updated documentation for processes, controls, and workflows.
- Work with internal and external stakeholders to troubleshoot and resolve accounting issues.
- Recommend and participate in initiatives to enhance accounting processes and workflow efficiencies.
- Contribute to special projects aimed at improving financial operations and overall performance
This role is based in our office in Durham, NC, 4 days per week.

Education and Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in account
- Entry-level experience in accounting roles (1-3 years)
