Responsibilities
Develop the scope, technical basis, installation, and testing requirements for engineering design changes that include but are not limited to AC / DC power and control systems, instrumentation and controls, digital systems, and cybersecurity.
Research engineering and design issues, evaluate alternatives, determine, and present recommendations to resolve issues.
Provide ongoing support of assigned engineering design changes through work order reviews, corrective action program assignments, and field installation support activities.
Develop or revise design specifications or technical requirements documents to support engineering design changes.
Develop or revise complex engineering calculations impacted by engineering design changes.
Complete licensing reviews per 10CFR50.59 that support engineering design changes.
Revise site design basis documents, design drawings, and regulatory documents impacted by engineering design changes.
Note : This posting is for one open position. Dependent on relevant experience, the level to which a candidate is aligned is outlined below.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from an ABET accredited program.
A Master 's degree in Engineering will be considered in lieu of a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering.
0-2 years of engineering experience.
Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from an ABET accredited program.
A Master 's degree in Engineering will be considered in lieu of a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering.
2-4 years of engineering experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Proficient in engineering theories and principles.
Proficient in principles of project management.
Experience in the utility industry.
Experience in the nuclear industry.
Experience with nuclear industry standard design process.
State registration as a Professional Engineer.
Working level knowledge of ETAP software program.
Working level knowledge of nuclear industry cyber security control practices.
Special Requirements
In lieu of one year of nuclear experience, a selected candidate is subject to the oversight and written approval authority of a designated qualified individual until the selected candidate becomes fully qualified.
Able to achieve nuclear site Unescorted Access / Security clearance.
This position may be required to have Emergency Response Organization (ERO) responsibilities which could include callouts with a defined response time to the site and an on-call duty rotation requiring the employee to be Fit for Duty.
Required to wear personal protective equipment (hardhat, safety glasses, fall protection, etc.) as needed.
Additional hours expected as workload / business need requires.
Occasional overnight travel.
Working Conditions
Typically, an office environment with some work in the plant to conduct system walkdowns and field support of modification implementation.
The work week is Monday – Thursday (Fridays / weekends as needed), 10-hour days. After completion of initial training and / or obtaining applicable qualifications, the candidate will work a hybrid schedule – two days onsite, two days remote.
