ResponsibilitiesSupport Transmission Planning work.
These could include power flow studies, modeling, programming.
Basic Qualifications
- Currently enrolled and pursuing a four-year degree in Engineering from an ABET accredited program
- Cumulative GPA of at least 2.75
Specific Requirements
- Valid Driver's License
Desired Qualifications
- Only previous Duke Energy interns/co-ops may be considered
- Demonstrated excellent written and oral communication skills
- Experience with the Microsoft Office Suite software
- Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher
- Demonstrated leadership qualities through effective decision making
- Works effectively with others from diverse backgrounds to achieve common goal
- Ability to deliver superior results within allocated time through effective prioritization, scheduling, planning and execution of assigned work
- Demonstrates tenacity by remaining persistence in the face of difficulty
- Demonstrated technical proficiency in use of computers, software, and engineering applications
- Desire to pursue a career in the energy industry
- Previous engineering work experience
Working Conditions
- Part time during business hours
- 5% travel
- Must live within 50mi of Duke Energy Plaza
- Hybrid mobility classification - work will be performed from both remote and onsite locations after the onboarding period. However, hybrid employees should live within a reasonable commute to a Duke Energy facility.
- Must pass a background check and drug screening to be eligible for hire
