Responsibilities
Provides deep technical expertise and guidance in the identification, analysis and resolution of problems in area of expertise,
Ensures accomplishment of business goals and objectives through effective planning, organizing, estimating, designing, scheduling, and monitoring of work activities,
Independently prepares thorough and accurate technical reports, correspondence, documentation, calculations, designs, and sketches,
Conducts thorough QAQC reviews of outsourced and in-house Work Order designs
Expertise with Maximo / BOUD, or ability to acquire Maximo / BOUD knowledge / expertise
Conducts engineering and related studies,
Strives to continually improve job-related, technical and professional knowledge, skills and performance,
Develops positive working relationships to effectively coordinate work activities,
Demonstrates effective verbal and written communication skills,
Maintains accurate records and files,
Supports the company's goals and represents the company positively and professionally
Basic / Required Qualifications
Engineering Technologist III
Bachelor’s of Science degree in Engineering Technology (or equivalent) AND three (3) years minimum of related experience, OR
Associate’s degree in Engineering Technology (or equivalent) AND five (5) years minimum of related experience, OR
In lieu of degree, high school diploma / GED AND nine (9) years minimum of related experience
Senior Engineering Technologist
Bachelor’s of Science degree in Engineering Technology (or equivalent) AND six (6) years minimum of relevant industry experience, OR
Associate’s degree in Engineering Technology (or equivalent) AND eight (8) years minimum of relevant industry experience, OR
In lieu of degree, high school diploma / GED AND twelve (12) years minimum of related experience
Desired Qualifications
Prior distribution design experience
Prior engineering experience using CAD / computer-based software
Distribution design experience
Good written and oral communication skills
Experience in the utility industry
Able to effectively apply basic principles of project management
Specific Requirements
Valid driver's license
Demonstrated ability to work with a variety of individuals from various socio-economic, cultural and ethnic backgrounds
Good written and oral communication skills
Working Conditions
Work will be performed from both remote and onsite locations after the onboarding period. However, hybrid employees should live within a reasonable daily commute to a Duke Energy facility.
