Responsibilities
Develop / Generate Periodic Project Controls Communications
Develop and generate project controls routine analytics for communication(s) prescribed by the business unit. Responsible for data collection, verification, validation and analysis of data to support project controls communications. Responsible for distributing and archiving project controls reports as appropriate. Provide presentation quality reports and communications as needed to project and management teams and be available to present if needed to project team / management team.
Lead and Perform Change Control
Track and manage changes to the project scope and schedule. Primary participant in audit reviews, acting liaison between sourcing and project management and project communications.
Coordinate Project Controls Benchmarking and Self-Assessment Initiatives
Assists in the coordination for scheduling benchmarking for project controls functions, and self-assessment initiatives relevant to types of projects typically managed by the project controls group. Coordinate improvement opportunities, adoption of best practices to address gaps in performance.
Expertise in Project Controls Methodologies
Implements systems for creating : a) common Work Breakdown Structures (WBS), b) project schedules, project change control management, and c) communications associated with project controls. Supports systems to track and communicate project status, perform project controls related analyses at a level appropriate for projects / programs for the assigned business.
Extensive Experience with Creating Modifying, and Analyzing Schedules
Has expert experience and knowledge of scheduling and Primavera P6. Extensive experience with creating, modifying, and analyzing schedules. Displays expert schedule management practices by building and managing float, optimizing schedules for known constraints, and appropriately escalating schedule concerns identified via analysis. Capable of optimizing schedules to support varying businesses and sponsor organizations. Experienced with both developing reporting metrics to gauge schedule quality and performance and implementing corrective action to improve performance.
Effective Team Leadership
Establishes effective relationships with customers (project management & sponsor organizations) and project teams to support resolution of project / programs controls issues and requirements. PPCS maintains effective relationships with customers, supports the resolution of quality issues, and complete assignments (proposals, project tasks, reports, etc.) within negotiated budgets and schedules.
Basic / Required Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Finance, Business Administration, Engineering, Project Management or other related degree AND six (6) years minimum required related experience
In lieu of degree and experience listed above, High School / GED AND10 years minimum required related experience
Preferred Qualifications
Masters degree in Finance, Business Administration, Engineering or other related degree
Professional certifications : Project Management Professional, Certified Associate of Project Management, PMI-SP, AACE-CCC, AACE-PSP, AACE-EVP, AACE-CEP
Additional Preferred Qualifications
Software such as MS Project / MS Office Suite, Primavera, Business Objects, Passport, Powerplant, Emax, Peoplesoft
Risk management tools / Monte Carlo analysis
Working Conditions
Work will be performed from both remote and onsite locations after the onboarding period. However, hybrid employees should live within a reasonable daily commute to a Duke Energy facility.
