Responsibilities
Manage regional supply chain facility and / or distribution center personnel day-to-day operations to meet individual, sectional, warehouse, and supply chain goals in support of business partner objectives / customer expectations.
Maintains a productive and motivated staff through strong leadership skills with a focus on continuous improvement
Manages working stock and Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) as part of the Integrated Supply Program (ISP)
Manages multi-level organization which is responsible for coordination and implementation of recommendations and strategies relative to inventory management and warehousing practices in support of business partner needs
Manages performance and develops employees for future career opportunities
Responsible for continuous improvement, training and license / certifications in the work group
Develops staffing plans to determine supplemental workforce needs and most economical manner to address peaking demands.
Responsible for safe operations of materials management equipment and vehicles. This equipment is frequently ‘customer facing’ as materials are moved throughout the service territory.
Monitors team results to identify opportunities for improvement.
Leads a safe, productive and motivated work force to ensure a cohesive team effort.
Complete observations and safety audits to ensure progress, performance, quality, and results.
Conducts interviewing and hiring of exempt and craft employees
Builds and maintains effective working relationships with multiple business partners and suppliers. Maintains close collaboration with business partner leaders to ensure requirements are met.
Responsible for business partner satisfaction of the assigned business area, i.e., fossil-hydro operations, transmission, distribution, telecom, gas etc.
Provides project management expertise for supply chain related initiatives
Ensures excellent support on planning and execution of outage restoration and off-system restoration
Attends outage management and project specific meetings on a regular basis to ensure any material impacts are discussed and resolved
Operate across Supply Chain and our Business partners systems to ensure outage support and restoration
Organizes the team around specific storm restoration plans including staffing, material availability, delivery, staging, etc.
Implements inventory optimization – establishes working capital strategies into everyday work activities including business partner support of related initiatives
Effectively directs warehousing of equipment, parts, and goods
Reviews inventory usage history, electronic re-order notices, challenges inventory changes and makes appropriate inventory recommendations.
Looks for opportunities to share inventory across the enterprise and works with the business partners to mitigate risk, while following affiliate transfer rules.
Sets individual and sectional goals to accomplish business objectives aligned with strategy.
Ensures compliance with policies, standards and state and federal regulatory requirements (FERC, shelf life, OSHA, SOX, DOT, financial asset accounting, affiliate asset transfer rules, etc.). Understands union contracts and effectively addresses union issues, as required.
Develops and manages budget
Develops and manages employee expense budget
Develops and manages inventory for warehousing and / or distribution center supplies.
Basic / Required Qualifications
Bachelors Degree
Minimum of 5 years related work experience
In lieu of Bachelors degree AND 5 years related work experience listed above, High School / GED AND 9 year(s) related work experience
Desired Qualifications
Strong working knowledge of material management techniques
Supply Chain experience
Electric utility experience
Prior leadership experience with Union workforce
Working Conditions
Onsite Mobility Classification – Work will be performed at a company facility.
Office and warehouse / plant environment with frequent travel to and between assigned operations facilities
Available for emergency and outage support on 24 / 7 basis
