Duke's is now seeking a motivated and results-driven Area Business Development Representative to join our team to drive business growth within a specific geographic area for defined services. We are looking for candidates who reside in the Raleigh, North Carolina area. Travel is required.
What You Will Do:
In this role, your key areas of responsibility will include Market Analysis, Client Relationship Management, Sales Strategy, Team Participation, Reporting and Analysis, and Collaboration.
You will maintain and enhance relationships with existing legacy "house" customers to ensure their satisfaction and repeat business which in turn ensures continued growth, you will focus on "densification" of services and clients within a 1-to-3-hour radius of the area, and you will focus on developing negotiated and/or bundled service opportunities and influencing public bids directly with municipal customers. You will attend local and regional trade shows to market Dukes, keep our existing customers informed, and to generate new customers. You will collaborate with your fellow team members for certain core services so that schedules can be aligned for cross-selling opportunities. You will engage and network with top local and regional engineering firms and contractors for teaming opportunities and negotiated work, and leverage relationships developed by the National Account Manager. You will work with our Marketing Department on regional marketing strategies such as Lunch & Learns, targets, webinars, etc. You will participate in weekly staff meetings, project reviews, etc. to better understand the workload, backlog of work and upcoming needs of the area, and finally, you will manage the sales pipeline and create the opportunities for which you are responsible in our systems. Other duties may be assigned according to business or team needs.

- Minimum of 5 years of experience in business development, sales, or a related role
- Strong understanding of market dynamics and industry trends
- Degree in Business, Marketing or related field preferred not required
- Proven track record of achieving sales targets and driving business growth
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, including the ability to present information clearly in writing and/or in a presentation
- Strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities
- Strong leadership and team management skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Willingness to travel within the region as required (30-60% of the time)
- Enjoy networking and building relationships in person and via phone/video calls, and representing the company at tradeshows and conferences
- Hold a drivers license with a clean MVR record
- Have strong computer skills such as working with CRMs, ERPs, and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Teams, Excel, etc.)
