What are the responsibilities and job description for the Hydro Excavation Operator position at Duke's?
We are now seeking experienced Hydro Excavation Operators join our Livonia, MI-based crew to complete hydro excavation work for our customers. A current CDL is required.

What You Will Do:
In this role, you will be responsible for the safe and professional operation of our Hydro Excavation units, maintaining all working equipment to ensure it is in good operating condition, mobilizing equipment to the site and operating the equipment in a safe manner. You will use the equipment to hydro excavate to expose utilities such as gas, water, electric, sanitary and telephone. You will be responsible for completing all required administrative paperwork (e.g., time sheets, truck mobilization/ demobilization logs, schedules, etc.) accurately, and within the specified timelines. You will also haul/tow equipment to and from job sites, and maintain and keep all hydro excavation equipment in good operating condition by adjusting, cleaning, lubricating, and performing minor repairs. You will also perform other related work as needed.

- Are at least 21 years old
- Hold a valid commercial driver’s license (CDL B or A with tanker endorsement) and a clean MVR record
- Are willing to undergo a background/MVR check, a DOT physical and drug screen
- Have experience operating heavy equipment for hydro excavation to expose various utilities
- Have experience in planning daily work activities and scheduled tasks
- Are mechanically inclined; in-field training will be provided
- Have strong attention to detail and an ability to problem solve
- Are comfortable working outside in all weather conditions
- Have the ability to lift up to 50 lbs. regularly
- Have strong interpersonal skills and like working as part of a team
- Will abide by all safety procedures and policies, including wearing required PPE for your safety.
Additional information: Hours are generally 40-60 hours a week (overtime is never guaranteed) and additional hours based upon job needs. May be required to report to multiple different shop locations based on project needs.
