General Description Of The Job Class
The Associate Human Resources Business Partner is the primary point of contact for and provides critical support to candidates, hiring managers, and internal HR and business stakeholders to provide a world-class onboarding experience for newly hired employees ensuring timely execution and completion of a seamless workflow for each new employee. This team member is also responsible for management of the employee development initiative, culture (recognition and wellness) initiatives, data extraction and interpretation of trends, project management, process improvement and some administrative support activities.
Duties And Responsibilities Of This Level
Education
A bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field is preferred or a combination of education and experience sufficient to meet the relevant experience and competencies provided above.
Experience
Experience and working knowledge of multiple human resources disciplines, including compensation practices, organizational diagnosis, employee relations, diversity and inclusion strategies, performance management, organizational development, talent acquisition and applicable employment laws. Experience comprehending, interpreting, and appropriately applying the sections of applicable laws, guidelines, regulations, ordinances, and policies. Academic Medical Center is preferred. Professional HR Certification (PHR or SHRM-CP) Preferred. Proficiency in Microsoft Office required.

Duties And Responsibilities Of This Level
- Interpret HR, entity and system policies and procedures, and provide guidance and education to leaders and team members where appropriate.
- Access, understand and interpret HR data, along with the generation and distribution of related reports and information (HR metrics, data requests, etc.). Conduct preliminary analyses of data, setting forth progress and adverse trends. Provide input into any recommendations or conclusions. Assist with high-volume, time sensitive and confidential data/reporting related needs (i.e., flu shot compliance, turnover analysis)
- Execute local employee recognition and culture enhancement programs (employee appreciation month, wellness and career service awards, etc.) to include event planning activities, logistics, ordering of supplies, communications and marketing responsibilities, etc. in partnership with a collaborative work team
- Create clear communication and processes to explain Duke Health operations including regular updates for various communication channels (electronic news, website, memos).
- Support the HR Business Partner(s) and HR leader in collecting and coordinating information
- Support implementation of department or entity action plans from the outcomes of culture surveys
- Provide support to compliance initiatives and/or onsite audits
- Participate in compensation activities (salary planning spreadsheets, market adjustments, miscellaneous projects)
- Provide local administrative HR support (schedule events or interviews, coordinate meetings, etc.)
- Welcome newly hired employees and executing the engagement plan throughout the onboarding journey; managing the badge creation process for new hires/transfers) ensuring a great experience for new employees and a smooth start into their roles.
- Ensuring compliance with all processes and maintaining a high level of confidentiality at all times.
