Title: Assistant Volleyball Coach

Position Summary:

Duke University is seeking a qualified candidate for the Assistant Volleyball Coach position. This position will assist the Head Coach with all phases of a Division I Volleyball program including organizing, planning and coaching.

Essential Functions:

• Responsible for assisting with phases of a Division I Volleyball program, within University, ACC and NCAA rules and regulations.

• Provide resources and lessons to enhance skill development

• Assist with the creation and implementation of offensive/defensive systems to prepare student athletes to compete.

• Understanding and utilizing volleyball analytics for education and scouting.

• Assist with recruiting

• Assist with travel planning

• Assist with practice planning, scouting and preparation

• Maintaining necessary compliance documents

• Assist with home competition operations

• Other duties as assigned by the head coach

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree required

• Prior playing or coaching experience preferably at the Division I level preferred

• A commitment to knowing and complying with NCAA, ACC, and institutional rules.

Knowledge, Skills, Ability:

• Ability to work with a diverse population

• Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills

• Knowledge of intercollegiate sports operations

• Ability to travel extensively during the recruiting process

• Ability to work in a highly dynamic and diverse university setting

Anticipated Pay Range:

Duke University provides an annual base salary range for this position as USD $65 to $75k. Duke University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position; candidate's work experience, education/training, and key skills; internal peer equity; as well as market and organizational considerations when extending an offer.
