In collaboration with the Vice President for Institutional Equity and senior leadership, the Director of Integrated Marketing, Communications, and Programming for the Office for Institutional Equity (OIE) will deve lop, manage, and execute a comprehensive internal and external communications strategy to advance the mission and initiatives of OIE. Reporting directly to the Vice President for Institutional Equity with a dotted li ne to the Associate Vice President for Strategy and Education Developmen t and the Associate Vice President for Harassment and Discrimination Pre vention and Compliance/Title IX Coordinator, this role includes the crea tion and dissemination of materials to highlight OIE’s programs and init iatives, oversight of digital platforms and communication channels, and support for University-wide committees such as the Racial Equity Advisor y Council (REAC).
The Direct or will also cultivate strong partnerships with communicators across cam pus to ensure consistent messaging and amplify OIE and REAC impact withi n the broader Duke community. Additionally, the Program Director for Spe cial Events will have a dotted line to the Director and work in close co ordination to design and implement strategic marketing, communications, and programming plans that elevate awareness of OIE’s work, clarify oppo rtunities for engagement, and promote racial and social equity. This rol e will provide strategic leadership, program management, and communicati on expertise to align OIE’s goals with the University’s overarching prio rities in this arena.

- Oversee the creation and dissemination of materials to highlight OIE and REAC efforts, includin g digital content, social media, newsletters, and marketing collateral.< /span>
- Serve as the pr imary liaison between OIE and University Communications, collaborating t o ensure cohesive messaging and branding across all communication platfo rms.
- Identify a nd address communication gaps within OIE by developing tailored strategi es to enhance clarity and engagement with key audiences.
- Provide oversight and strategi c direction to the Program Director and Program Coordinator, ensuring al ignment of team communications andmarketing efforts with OIE’s goals an d priorities.
- Guide and work alongside the Program Director for Special Event s in designing and implementing communications and marketing materials t hat support OIE’s initiatives, including events such as the Cook Society Dinner, MLK Commemoration, Campus Culture Survey, REAC Council, and the Duke Equity Network Meeting.
- Lead the development of integrated marketing and communic ations plans to promote OIE-hosted events and initiatives, maximizing at tendance and engagement.
- Collaborate with internal and external partners to ensure prog rams and events align with the mission and priorities of OIE and reflect best practices inequity and inclusion programming.
- Monitor the effectiveness of progra ms and events, using feedback and data to inform continuous improvement efforts.
- Provide mentorship and leadership to the Program Director for Special Events and the Program Director that supports REAC, fostering professional development andaligning their efforts with OIE’ s strategic objectives.
- Facilitate team meetings and planning sessions to ensure effect ive coordination and communication across all projects and initiatives w ith VP and senior leadership team.
- Collaborate with OIE’s internal teams (compliance a nd strategy and educational development) to ensure marketing and communi cation efforts support their objectives.
- Build and maintain collaborative relationships with university departments, schools, and external partners to support OIE’s work and amplify its impact.
- Lead audience an d market research initiatives to inform communication strategies, includ ing surveys, focus groups, and benchmarking against peer institutions.
- Collaboratewith the administrative support team in OIE to analyze web and social media performance metrics, making data-driven recommendations to enhance engag ement and reach.
- Work with the Program Director for Special Events to implement best pr actices for tracking and reporting marketing outcomes, ensuring alignmen t with OIE’s strategic goals.
- Use insights from research and analytics to refine commun ication and program strategies, enhancing their impact and effectiveness .
- Oversee the planning and execution of commun ication and marketing projects, ensuring timely delivery, adherence to b randing standards, and alignment with OIE’s priorities.
- Develop and manage project time lines, budgets, and resources, ensuring efficient use of staff and vendo r support.
- Main tainorganized records of all communications and programming activities, including work products, plans, and reports.
