Perform semi-skilled duties in operating equipment and perform a variety of manual tasks in maintaining Duke University grounds, gardens, golf course and forest.
Work Performed
- Operate riding type power mowers to mow lawns, golf greens, and athletic fields.
- Operate roto tiller, power edgers to shape edges of curbs and highways, and power saw to cut trees.
- Operate stump routers to remove stumps.
- Operate truck for picking up trash, leaves and limbs; participate in loading and unloading truck.
- Operate lining equipment for marking off playing fields and track.
- Perform routine maintenance on equipment as required;
- Determine when equipment is in need of repair and inform appropriate authorities.
- Perform duties supportive of the work described above.
