Non Duke Student Intern Cyber Policy Program Research Associate
The Cyber Policy Program at Duke, within the Sanford School of Public Policy, applies the school’s expertise and tradition of public service to the many new ways that governments use technology and ensures they preserve fundamental civil liberties, particularly for underserved communities and historically disenfranchised groups. Duke’s approach to technology policy places a priority on research and outreach that will make a practical impact. Through the Tech Policy Lab, researchers will focus on both policy engagement and research. Topics of interest include platform accountability, data broker regulations, cyber policy and gender violence, data and national security, health data, and cybersecurity leadership and capacity building.
Position Description
The position will support the work of one of the current projects within the Cyber Policy Lab. This is a part time position.
Responsibilities
Work generally requires a Bachelor’s degree, preferably with significant coursework or training/prior experience in technology/cyber policy.

Position Description
The position will support the work of one of the current projects within the Cyber Policy Lab. This is a part time position.
Responsibilities
- Work alongside undergraduate and graduate students on a designated research project
- Assist in the creation of practical policy research deliverables
- Conduct primary and/or secondary tech policy research including but not limited to literature reviews, interviews, and surveys
- Administrative tasks including scheduling and coordination of project meetings, maintaining project timeline, and record of project milestones
- Communicate with research advisor on project timeline and milestones
Work generally requires a Bachelor’s degree, preferably with significant coursework or training/prior experience in technology/cyber policy.
