About Unit 5-1 - Medicine
Unit 5-1 - Medicine at Duke Regional Hospital is a 36-bed acute care stepdown unit caring primarily for patients experiencing end stage renal disease, shortness of breath, and altered mental status. As part of the team, you'll have the opportunity to advance your career through bonuses for medical-surgical and geriatric certifications, conference attendance, and other educational opportunities. Team members can also join one of several committees focused on improving specific areas of patient care, including geriatrics, infection control, diabetes management, and more. Unit 5-1 offers team members self-scheduling in eight-week blocks with a weekend option, helping all team members find balance between their personal and professional schedules. General Description of this Role
Independently plan and provide professional nursing care for patients in accordance with physician orders and established policies and procedures. Provide nursing services to patients and families in accordance with the scope of the RN as defined by the North Carolina Board of Nursing.
