Job Summary:
Duluth Dock & Lift is seeking a reliable and hardworking Seasonal Dock Installation Crew Member to join our team for the dock installation and removal seasons. In this role, you will assist with the delivery, assembly, and installation and removal of docks and boat lifts for residential & commercial clients. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, be physically fit, and enjoy working outdoors in a team-oriented environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with the loading & unloading, transportation, and setup of dock & lift materials and equipment.
- Help with the installation and assembly of docks, boat lifts, and other waterfront systems.
- Perform routine maintenance and cleaning on tools & equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation.
- Follow safety procedures and regulations while working on our service barge and at shorefront sites.
- Operate hand tools, power tools, and basic construction machinery as required.
- Work well with other crew members to ensure timely and accurate project completion.
- Communicate effectively with the Crew Supervisor and Operations Manager to ensure tasks are prioritized and completed safely.
- Assist in securing docks to the shoreline or waterbed, including anchoring and leveling.
- Perform site clean-up and removal of construction debris after installation is completed.
- Assist in preparing sites for future installations when not actively involved in the setup.
Qualifications:
- Must be available for full-time work starting April 15th through October 31st.
- Must be available for overtime, especially during peak install and removal seasons. (May and October)
- Valid driver's license required. Previous experience driving trucks, pulling and backing trailers a plus.
- Previous experience in construction, landscaping, or similar outdoor work is preferred.
- Ability to work efficiently in a physically demanding role, including lifting and carrying heavy materials (up to 100 lbs).
- Comfortable working in a team setting and following instructions.
- Willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions (including rain, sun, wind, and cold temperatures).
- Must be dependable and punctual.
- Ability to operate basic power tools and hand tools safely, while also considering safety of all co-workers.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to follow safety protocols.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and carry heavy materials. (up to 100 lbs)
- Ability to stand, walk, and bend for extended periods.
- Must be able to work in and around water, often on uneven terrain.
- Ability to walk up and down all types of terrain often in wet environments.
- Ability to work in hot, cold, windy, or rainy weather conditions.
Compensation:
- Competitive hourly rate: $20-$25 per hour, depending on skills and experience.
- Overtime opportunities available.
- Paid training.
- Bonuses are available for full-time candidates that successfully complete the April-October season.
- Company clothing available for proven candidates (30 days worked)
- Take part in company events throughout the season.
Schedule:
- 8-hour shift (Overtime in peak seasons)
- Mon-Fri, Day shift
- Occasional weekend availability required during peak seasons.
