Responsibilities
The Compensation Director reporting to the VP of Human Resources is responsible for the design and administration of corporate wide compensation programs. The Compensation Manager will act as a resource to the HR team and organizational leaders. This is a hands-on position responsible for the full spectrum of compensation services from structure design to addressing day to day compensation related matters within the business. Specific areas of accountability include salary structure design and management, market pricing, job family review, and creating special incentives.
- Develops compensation policy and guideline interpretations, including the design of creative solution to meet specific compensation related needs.
- Manage the base pay structure, ensuring market competitiveness and internal consistency; recommend adjustments to meet business needs. Provide regular and ad-hoc reports to support compensation and compensation-related analysis and assess the effectiveness of compensation programs.
- Administer annual merit increase programs for both management and staff positions providing guidance and assistance to managers on process from using the performance management tools to merit assignment.
- Maintain bonus structures and partner with HR and payroll during the annual distribution process.
- Create standardized reporting and ad hoc reporting from HRIS for internal HR applications.
- Partner with Talent Acquisition and HR Business Partners on base pay decisions, including guidance on competitive new hire offers.
- Participates in industry related surveys, provides and analysis and recommendations reflecting market sensitivity and in sync with the performance management system. Participates in special compensation studies for purposes of maintain competitive position in the marketplace.
- Administer on-going and annual staff base pay structure, maintenance including collecting and evaluating market data, managing internal pay ranges based on market movement and benchmarking new positions.
- Ensure pay structures are compliant with federal, state, and local guidelines, including FLSA, exemption classifications for existing and new jobs.
- Assists supervisors and HR with job description creation and modification.
Qualifications
The Experiences You Bring
- A minimum of 5-7 years experience in compensation required
- A minimum of 3 years compensation or HR experience in a health care environment is strongly preferred
Core Competencies:
- Strong knowledge and technical understanding of HRIS systems and HRIS reporting is required.
- Prior experience with Workday HR solutions is preferred.
- Strong technical compensation aptitude, utilizing the latest compensation philosophies, techniques and skills
- Ability to create meaningful presentations and reports utilizing a variety of raw data
- Advanced knowledge of federal, state and local wage and hours laws and regulations
- Advanced skill in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Word)
- Ability to work under pressure and prioritize work
- Ability to handle confidential information.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently, take initiative, and perform effectively in fast - paced environment is essential
- Excellent analytical abilities, both with job description creation and modification as well as with complex data sets, such as salary information.
