Position Highlights:

- Under general supervision, performs work related to the care and treatment of the patients in the GI room.
- Assures availability of instrumentation and supplies required for the surgical procedure prior to the case.
- Participates in GI room set up, turnover, cleaning, and restocking.
- Maintains sterile technique in opening of surgical supplies and instrumentation.
- Cleans, prepares and decontaminates GI scopes and equipment.
- Provides for aseptic technique throughout surgical procedure in a safe, efficient manner.
- Observes, recognizes, and anticipates common surgical complications, and assists with emergency care as needed. Reports unusual conditions to the RN.
- Possesses general knowledge of equipment and supplies.
- Assures availability of instrumentation and supplies required for the G.I.procedure prior to the case.

- Performs duties relating to processing, decontaminates and maintenance of the surgical instruments, equipment, and supplies in accordance to manufactures specifications and the Center's policies and procedures.
- Understands and practices principles of universal precautions, and hazardous materials management to process instruments, equipment, and supplies through the stages of decontamination.
- Demonstrates knowledge of standard instrumentation and equipment, their functions and uses.
- Maintains documentation of biological indicators for sterile processing equipment.
- Maintains appropriate instrument sets and supplies relating to their sterility, storage, and inventory levels.
- Demonstrates ability to work independently under established policies, procedures, and standards.
- Maintains confidentiality.
- Demonstrates ability to setup surgical trays and wrap appropriately for sterilization.
- Stocks supplies in room and blanket warmer.
- Assists with turnovers
Education
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- BCLS Certification
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in Endoscopic Suite
The compensation for this role includes a base pay range of $16.35-30.85, with the actual pay determined by factors such as skills, experience, education, certifications, geographic location, and internal equity. Additional compensation may be available through shift differentials, bonuses, and other incentives. Base pay is only a portion of the total rewards package.
