Role Overview
As a Senior Associate Immigration Law Attorney, you will play a critical role in representing clients in various immigration proceedings, managing complex cases, and advocating for individuals seeking legal status in the United States. You will also help mentor junior attorneys and contribute to overall litigation strategy as the firm continues to grow.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare clients for individual hearings and represent them before the Immigration Court (EOIR)
- Represent clients at master calendar hearings
- Appear with clients at adjustment of status hearings and asylum interviews
- Prepare and file motions to reopen
- Prepare and file appeals to the Board of Immigration Appeals (BIA)
- Prepare and submit waivers, including I-601, I-601A, and I-212
- Prepare and file U visa and T visa applications for victims of crime and trafficking
- Prepare and file Special Immigrant Juvenile (SIJ) and VAWA petitions for vulnerable clients
- Manage asylum and cancellation of removal cases, ensuring thorough evidentiary support
- Conduct legal consultations with prospective and existing clients
Qualifications
✅ Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
✅ Admission to the New Jersey Bar (required)
✅ Minimum 5 years of experience practicing immigration law (required)
✅ Fluency in Spanish and English (required)
✅ Strong courtroom advocacy skills and confidence handling hearings independently
✅ Excellent legal writing and research skills
✅ Compassionate, trauma-informed, and client-centered approach
✅ Ability to manage a complex caseload and collaborate with a growing legal team
