Job Description
The Maintenance Technician will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our machinery and equipment. This individual will be responsible for performing a range of tasks, including:
- Repairing and maintaining machinery and equipment used in production and related services.
- Diagnosing machine malfunctions and operating difficulties.
- Programming and using PLC's and other machine controls.
- Making repairs or adjustments to keep equipment functioning properly and efficiently.
- Rebuilding machines and overhauling troublesome components and attachments.
- Performing skilled operations such as filing and aligning bearings, spindles, and shafts.
Requirements and Preferences
- Graduation from a three-year formalized program including blueprint reading and interpretation required.
- 1-3 years extensive experience in a variety of maintenance trades required.
- Requires a broad knowledge of mechanical repair and maintenance.
- Wisconsin Electrician License preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as blueprints, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to write simple correspondence.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide and perform metric conversions.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardizations exist.
- The ability to operate various tools and equipment.
- Must be available to report to work if contacted for emergency reasons on weekends, holidays, or irregular hours.
